If you are having trouble anyway, the problem is more likely to be between you and Discord than at Discord itself. Two things worth checking, in order: your connection under load — a line that idles at 20 ms can jump to 300 ms while something uploads, which drops you from sessions and looks exactly like a server fault — and whether the people you play with see the same thing, since a service can be healthy in your region and unwell in theirs. What Discord actually publishes

Discord runs on Atlassian Statuspage and publishes about 30 components — unusually, including per-region voice servers. Atlanta, US East, US Central, US West, US South, Brazil, Rotterdam, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Sydney, Russia and South Africa are all tracked separately, alongside API, Gateway, Push Notifications and the desktop, web, iOS and Android clients.

Matching the symptom to the cause

Voice cutting out for some people in the call but not others: That's a regional voice server, not Discord as a whole. Everyone routed through the affected region has trouble; everyone else is fine. Changing the server's voice region in channel settings usually fixes it immediately.
Messages sending but nothing arriving in real time: Gateway. It's the live connection; the API can be healthy while the gateway is struggling, which looks like the app has frozen.
The app loads but nothing works: API. Everything else depends on it.

Where this reading can mislead you

Discord being down is not a gaming outage on paper, but it ends the evening just as effectively — it's usually the voice layer for the whole group. That's why it's on this dashboard alongside the games. If your party can't hear each other, the game being healthy doesn't help.

When the status page says green and you still can't play

Status pages report the vendor's view of their own service, and they lag real outages — often by many minutes, sometimes by hours, because a human usually has to confirm before anything is posted. They also can't see the two things most likely to be wrong at your end.

The first is your own connection under load. A line that idles at 20 ms can jump to 300 ms the moment something starts uploading, which drops you from sessions and looks exactly like a server fault. Your plan speed says nothing about this; it's called bufferbloat and almost nobody measures it.

The second is where everyone else in your group is. A service can be healthy in your region and unwell in theirs, and if one person is hosting, their problem is everyone's problem.

Because Discord publishes voice servers by region, a problem affecting your group may not affect the region you're reading from. Check which voice region your server is set to before concluding Discord is fine.

Playing with people elsewhere

Discord being fine where you are does not mean it is fine for everyone in your group. The live dashboard resolves status against each person's own region, and will tell you which of your friends is in an affected area — plus who has the connection to host, which is usually a different question from who has the fastest plan.
